Landscape Design

Program objectives

  • Educate a creative and responsible professional bachelor of landscape architecture, able to carry out independent analysis of factors influencing landscaping ideas and seeking for professional development. 
  • Prepare a specialist able to provide ecological and aesthetical management of residential areas, design and implement landscaping plans of various objects.
  • Develop general abilities and satisfy increased needs of the youth to obtain higher education.

Acquired competencies

Graduates are able to:

  • recognize and assess ornamental, horticultural, edible and medicinal plants;
  • tackle growing and protection against diseases and pests problems of ornamental, horticultural and garden plants;
  • apply breeding methods for growing seedlings, select the most suitable growing technologies;
  • carry out applied territorial studies; 
  • design various landscape gardens and apply modern technologies in landscape management;
  • organize installment of landscape gardens, their reconstruction and maintenance;
  • design floral arrangements;
  • prepare ornamental plants for sale;
  • assess the existing condition of parks and elaborate their management plans;
  • design new  park management plans;
  • organize environmental education;

Professional perspectives

Graduates will be able to work in plant nurseries, florist farms, national and regional parks, reserves, botanical gardens, landscaping enterprises and companies, agrotourism companies, flower and florist shops, salons, in the fields of floral arrangements and interior decoration; develop other phytocommercial and rural tourism activities providing advice and services, establish own business, continue studies. Recently this speciality has been gaining an increasing popularity.
